Anyone boosted a Cr-vtec?
I've got a chance to get a B20 for cheap. I'd really like to do a vtec conversion and turbo charge. If anyone has done one, what kind of costs were involved and how hard was the conversion? Also, what car did you put it in? And finally, do you feel it was worthwhile? The reason I ask is I am trying to decide whether or not to pursue this b20, or save up and get a factory turbo AWD GSX.

We have turbo'ed and supercharged Cr-Vtecs , They run fine of buit right. My last one made 260ft lbs at 11 psi, It spooled the GT35R pretty fast too.

Re: (AzntaggeR)
if you run it rich the sleeves should be fine but dont pass 10 pounds if that.
if you put the b20vtec together right and tune it with boost it should be good for alittle while but i would resleeve it still cuz it wont be as realiable

Sleeves are actually thicker than b16 and b18's. Its the style of how the sleeves are cast together which makes them weak. I wouldnt boost a crvtec over 10psi personally, keep timing conservitive as well.

You make good points but a proper tune is really the most important thing. One should be able to make 300-330whp safely on a b20 with a good tune. Doesnt sound like too much but dont forget about the torque curve and the quick spool characteristics of a b20. In a light car it should be quite a monster.

I made 375 whp on pump with a full stock b20 vtec with gsr head. That was at 15 psi. Its all on how u tune it. The motor blew later but due to a broken retainer that dropped a valve. Besides that it held up fine and i think it could have gone even more.
