I believe a b20/w turbo will be cheaper, and definitely faster... although with enough money I suppose you could build it to run na faster...

you better build the b20 if you want to run good boost w/ no problems......b20 rods are just weak.

Hi guys,

I think the best combo would be a B20 VTEC TURBO.... a friend of mine has one. Built up with JG internals....and dynoed at 430 at the wheels...the only problem is his clutch keeps slipping after a few hard launches.....sigh!

How much boost is your friend running? With aftermarket rods and pistons, I was advised that my set-up is limited to 14 psi intercooled, before the stock block goes boom.....

Hi,

He was running about 1.5 bar which is about 21 psi at max boost.... he's using JG pistons (lower comp.) and con rods...

I think 14 psi on stock internals is quite dangerous....hmm...

all motor is waaay more respectable. turbo is faster but an all motor b20 vtec is fast enough, easily 12's. what more could you ask for for a streetcar, daily drive. but turbo is obviously faster.
Just how is all motor "waaay more respectable"? Just because it's more expensive???? Turbo is just as valid and can be just as impressive as all motor.

How much respect does the B20 turbo guy running 10s at 120-130mph compared to the guy running mid-high 12s and not breaking 110mph? *grin*

either way is cool, either way is expensive.

I'd go CRV longblock, GSR trans, built bottom, Hondata, 14psi everyday.

ive had this question in my head for awhile now. if you run a minamal amount of boost say 7 or 8 maybe even 9 lbs, do you have to resleeve your block? or can i just get like a eagle drop in block gaurd?, and if i do the block gaurd how much boost is achievable on it without blowing, it would be a daily driver

peace guys and to a good topic

ps if i were going all motor i would deff. go cr-vtec, but i hope you have the money to support your monster, i hear you have to take care in the way there built or there not gonna run for long, so take your time and no short cuts. all i have hope it helps someone

I say on the streets a all motor car that makes boosted ones look sick is very respectable.....A friend of mine in a all motor hatch smoked a supercharged stang on th v8 guys battle grounds.....he got mad props! But at the same time a friend of mine i a turbo teg out ran a ss sprayin a nice shot and everyone was like well he got turbo ....I aint hating on turbo cause I'm going boost myself right now...just threw my eyes people respect a nasty *** all motor car more....but if a boosted crvtec hatch rolls up....thats just intimnatin as hell

why is everything about respect, why does everyone have to be respected on there ride, i say if you win you win, if you don't you don't , i feel like im in the fast and the furious, need some nos some nos two big bottles, i wanna race for the respect, why we have to have all this drama, if you have a fi car, great you can stomp a na car and great if you have a na monster whatever you pleasure is this is really a stupid thing to do is battle over fi an na either way it can be fun, just do you thing and stop worring what others think of you, don't do things to impress people

depends on what you want to do with it, fast in a strait line = turbo fast around turns = all motor or supercharge it if your nasty.

OOOOOokkkkk......well its like this, around here everybody is just starting to get swaps and stuff...but me and some more fellas have had our cars and swaps since like 1998/99 and we know more about this stuff and have more skills..so therefore we got "respect" around here...some people look up to us because if someone comes through that has spent twice the amount of money we have most of the time we still win because of tunin and skills... our cars had reps when they were sohc's then they got dohc's , and now they are boosted....when you live in a small town you earn respect....especally if you are like me, a black guy that likes imports when all the other black guys that live in your town drives caprices and ****.....this aint the case everywhere but in my lil town sme people earn there respect

Default B20 Vtec Turbo

I have the B20B Vtec Turbo set up. I love everything except for the fact that the block has siamese (Weak ***) sleeves. I have not re-sleeved my block and am running 10 psi boost all day with no problems (325 wheel hp)(Tuned on Dyno jet , A/F ratio mint). If I re-sleeved the bitch and ran 20-23 psi (Tuned) I think my ride would be good for about 460 Wheel hp. The reason why I did not re-sleeve is because anymore than even 300 wheel hp in a civic is unnecessary and you cannot hook up!
