Default Any way to make a small turbo function bigger?

Hey guys, I know I'm considered a noob here but I've pretty much been a non-registered lurker for the past 4 years or so and on HMT for quite a few years now too. Since HT obviously has a much larger user base, I figured I'd ask you guys this question. I have an 89 hatchback with a b16a tuned with BRE on an obd0 pr3 and dsm 450's. I made a custom top mount manifold for it and ran a .60 trim T3 for a few weeks until I ended up with some bad issues (center ended up being completely clogged shut and oil started shooting into the exhaust pretty badly) and seeing that my budget seems to be getting smaller and smaller as I get older, the only thing I could find in a pinch was a audi KKK turbo that had almost no mileage. Size-wise it's almost the same as a garrett t3 .42/.48 and seems to have a pretty similar compressor map, maybe a hair smaller on the cold side though. My problem is it comes on boost way too soon (as would be expected) and I can't seem to raise it to a higher rpm. I start to spool around 2700 and reach full boost (a low 8psi for now) by 3000rpm. I retarded the distributor timing 3* manually and overlapped my cams (went -2* exhaust and +3 intake) to try and move the power curve upwards. It worked a little...instead of falling off after 4300rpm I can now get it to almost 6k. Is there anyway I can possibly get the power curve up a bit more? I wouldn't mind where it's at right now if I had a d16a6, but c'mon...b16's like a bit more rpm than that I appreciate the input, and yes...there will be a larger turbo on the way...t3's being redone with a to4e compressor when the car gets parked for the winter. And I appologize for such a long post

Holy **** huge paragraph. I tried to read it, but all I can see are some numbers scattered around here and there.

Lol...just means I know what I'm talking about. I'm sure that's at least better than me being a noob that asks extremely dumb questions.

Your not gonna make the turbo any more efficient than it was designed for. it's pretty much concrete, if you have a larger engine the turbo just can't flow enough the provide the power up top. Just have to save your money for a bigger turbo or get used to the shorter powerband. Nice daily driver though! I doubt clipping the fins will help out much to be worth the cost and time.
