Re: any one use the act 6 puck sprung disc (turboedc2)
i have the unsprung act 6 puck and it sucks bawls, eats up your pp and flywheel pretty bad, by the time i boosted my car my clutch was completely gone, it grabbed worse then my stock clutch did. So I cant tell you how it would work for boost, but it definetely didn't work while NA.

What the hell did you do to it?
I haven't ever had a real big problem with sprung 6-puck clutches on cars, sure they wear a little faster than some others. They have held fine for most street cars that I have worked on. I would definitley get a puck clutch.

Yep, I definitley missed that. But either way they have a much harser engagement. I would go with a sprung 6-puck either way.
But thanks for pointing out my mistake.

I ran a 6 puck sprung on my gsr and I hated it. I was running it with the extreme heavy duty pressure plate and the pedal was way too stiff. The clutch only lasted about 4 months and was done. I agree with Sir Boostalot they do chew up flywheels faster.

I guess I got a miracle clutch then. Mine went through two motors, tons of passes at the track and it was still in the car when I sold it. I do agree, action looks to have some good clutches these days.
You guys sure do tear up some clutches.

i think am going to just stick with the street disc 6 puck is too aggressive for especially in the streets.

Im using a 6puck sprung, but just being on a puck set up vs the regular street discs with turbo has been a perfect match for my d-series set up and its a daily driver.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a 6 puck(I'm currently running a Action 6 puck sprung) it's just that I think ACT clutches are overrated and crap.

ummm honestly i have always used a 4 puck unsprung ACT clutch with lightened flywheel, and heavy duty pressure plate... and i dont know waht you guys are talkin about it lasts like 30k miles for me.. i too am a comuter student... the clutch had minimal wear on it... my flywheel has a replacable surface, and just buy a new PP.... now im boosted... same setup, and absolutely no problems. i drive in miami's rush hour traffice 7 days a week, and i have NO complaints at all.

Same here, Northern Va commuter traffic, unsprung 6 puck on a stock flywheel with an extreme pressure plate. I'm on the 7th month of daily driving use, only gripe is stop'n'go traffic.

I've driven on an ACT HD-SS (my car) and on an ACT HD-R6 (friend's hatch). The R6 will want to chatter more on standing starts. You really have to be more conscious about slipping the clutch to make the starts smoother.
Other than that, no complaints.
