Any high horsepower h series
Are there any high horsepower h series motors in this forum... I always see a lot of high horsepower b series motors in this forum, i was beginning to wonder if there were any high horsepower h series motors....
I am picking up a beater for the winter and i am doing a complete build up of the motor, trying to shoot for 500whp with an sc61 on race gas.... The thing is i have never seen any h series motor do that on race gas... Are there any street driven h22's pushing that power level?? Is it worth it for me to try and push that power level on an h22??
I have an integra and the h22 is currently in my car. I also have a spare b18c that i can build up instead of the h22.. Should I do that instead? I just want a 500whp car on c16... I'd rather do it with an h22 since it will come with a whole lot of extra torque.... So far the only problems I have seen with the h series is the inability to get into fifth gear and the oil pump failure.... Is it worth it to build the h series over the b series? It seems all the fully built H22 guys sell their cars a week after they break their new motors in, I have seen four resleeved/fully built h22's turn out like that.
The only fully built person that I know of thats still with the program is Hondaddict . Are there any specific advantages of the b series over the h series? How come more b series seem to be making power than h series? The h series tranny feels kinda quirky, does it pose a problem when u start pushing major power? I know a lot of people that say they cant get into fifth gear on their h series...is this also a problem? If I build the b18c, its going to be at an 85mm bore with darton sleeves and 9:1CR, if i build an h22 its going to be at stock bore and 9:1CR....
Either one will have some aftermaket manifold, bigger injectors, quaiffe, electromotive or speedpro... . The h22 thats in my car can be pulled and swapped for the b18c in my garage....Its going to be a winter build up so I do have sometime to do this...just wanted to get on the ball and start ordering parts... Tinker is building an h22 too...It would be nice to have your input

go with the b its proven time and time again. and there is no need to go 85 bore this will disalow the block to be used again if anything ever happens to the cylinders. the old saying"no replacement for displacement" has been replaced the new one reads "displacement... ha i got a big mf-ing turbo". id go 82 or 83 this will leave plenty of room. mine is 83mm sc61 gsr with good valves and springs the head is just matched to the intake nothing else is touched in the ports and on 114 made 520 at 25 psi and i do drive it daily

Re: (hondahvn)
how is it daily driving it? what size turbo do u run? i'd like to make a somewhat usable powerband with some torque to back it up... What rpm do u see full boost? How much boost do u run on pump gas? What power level do u have on pump gas? Lastly how much boost do u see in first and second? Sorry for all the questions...

Re: (Tinker219)
C-Murdock, why do u say they suck for turbo? I noticed u have a fully built h22... why are u selling your car? Why not upgrade the setup? Any specific problems with h22 setups??I already have an H22 in my car.... but I also have a spare B18C... Tinker, U should come out with that H22 RWD kit and then I am definitley sold on the whole h22 thing
