Default ANY disadvantages to using thicker headgaskets??

Are there any disadvantages to using a thicker head gasket for a turbo application? i'm thinking of using a Cometic 0.040" gasket to bring my compression ratio to about 9.5:1 (JE 9.8:1 comp. pistons, B18C block, B16A head)
also, i'll be using ARP head studs...

considering the stock gasket is 0.029", i'm not doing too thick on the gasket, but i'm still concerned if this setup will be ok for 9-14psi...(300-350WHP)

Changes cam timing, you need cam gears to offset having a thicker gasket..

timing is a main factor. It will have to be advanced in some way.

It does affect the quench area in your combustion chamber, can't really go into detail on how it affects it, you want a good quench for combustion purposes. InlinePro has great success with their own thicker headgaskets sooooooo......
