What type of core do you plan on using? Are your end tanks going to be full custom or just welded on by yourself?
Go to lowes and build yourself a MBC for 5$ for the dyno session.
I would loan you mine but, you not close

Im not sure I trust my engine on a $5 setup. Ya, they are the same thing as higher dollar units, but Ive had luck with those. Any of the MBC's Ive tried to build end up spiking like crazy.
I will probably be using this same intercooler, as it fits in the void pretty nicely.

Damn, you gonna throw on a headgasket? I have an 11.0 to 1 motor, and I was really limited on the pump gas tune. Sucks. . . .

Ill wait until I have a reason to pull the head.
As stated, this car will be tracked heavily, and apparently 1 or 200 rpm above the "electronic rev limit", from a manual over-rev will kill the retainers in these motors. Its almost a given that I will have to be into the head before the summer is out, Ill lower the compression THEN
And yes, I dont believe in race gas tuning if its a street car, never using race gas. This car is just that.

I was thinking the same thing about the loose ***. So I plan on running 275/40/17 rear Kuhmo V710s at the track(road race if that wasnt made apparent yet).
I already got my $50 a piece Konig Appeals(they are godawful ugly) 17X9.5" wheels, just have to come up with the other $900 to shod them in the appropriate rubber

. God knows nobody's going to be bitching about your wheel choice when you're blowing by them at the track

Love how you're going to track it, love how you're going to run pump gas while driving it around the street. Purely a drivers car, to be enjoyed, and well rounded. Love it

Might be some decent information in some of his posts for you

eXACtly how I feel
Ill be using 225/50/16s on the front, 275/40/17s on the rear to help offset the tail-happyness. Its awesome if you can drive the car, but I dont feel Im a well enough rounded driver to trust myself on stock sized tires, especially in the rear with 30% more power than stock. If I become confident enough, the fronts will be converted to the 9.5 inchers as well
Dracord, thanks for sharing that link! Im hoping to have just the regular low boost reliability that most Honda motors are known for. I had an LS motor w/just an FMU, 450cc injectors that lasted two years at 12psi. It died because of an oil pump failure. Im sure with forged internals and PROPER tuning, the S2k will last much longer. If I can make it through the entire season on this motor with no problems, then Ill be very happy
The rear-end on the other hand probably wont make it too long. If I sit at idle, bump the shifter against any gear(no clutch, just "bumping"), a very audible "CLUNK" sounds from back there
Ive been half-heartedly trying to find a 240SX rear end to convert to WHEN(not if) the time comes.

Mine is finished and ready to be tuned this weekend.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
on your setup!!! Only a year to build it eh?
Basically Im going to take it as high as it will go with 11.5-12:1 AFR and not knock on 92 octane gas. From what Ive been researching, and from what my tuner has experienced, 300whp on their dyno seems to be the pump gas limit. Based on this turbo and setup, that may come at just 5.8psi. If it does, and I can push it a little further while still being VERY safe, I probably will!
The first major road test will be from Traverse City, MI, to Daytona Beach, FL in March...it HAS to be reliable.

Coming down to FL, huh? What's in Daytona?</TD></TR></TABLE>
My first vacation! I figure might as well durability-test the S while Im at it
If it dies on me, well, get rental car and ship the ****** home
The only problems I can foresee would be with the EMS. I am bringing the stock ECU, smaller injectors so I can limp it home if the EMS quits on me.

Oh...trust me, this wont be driven on sloppy roads. I have driven in the snow before the paint job, it actually isnt that bad. At least predictable...give it any gas, and you spin

cody, i am wondering why you would want a 240 rear in your car ?
why not swap it out for a vette rear? m sure it can handle more abuse than the 240 rear?

Well, the 240 has been done already for one. Two, Ive actually seen the diff in person, looks very similar in size to the S2k diff. Someone in Australia had it done. Just new mounts(easy), custom propellar shaft(drive shaft), and retro'd axles(all can be done locally w/the proper alignment). I should be able to get it done in a weekend, provided I get the right adapter peices made for the axles ahead of time. But, till it fails on me, Ill keep beating on mine.
Now I have never seen a Corvette diff. I will NOT go to a fuel cell setup of the diff is too tall, which the Nissan diff is not.
Yep, thats the V-mount setup that I "may" convert to!
