Default Another reason why Golden Eagle rocks...

Well Vince, I'm the guy who cause all the comotion about my long *** delay on getting my block...that was that, I'm still pissed but oh well.

Anyway, on a GOOD note, I took my block to a machine shop that works on muscle cars (1000+ hp)...and they were utterly amazed at the strength of the sleeves...they said it actually almost broke their machine trying to bore it.
Makes me feel good about my block....doesn't it? Thanks!

Glad to hear that something is happening with your block. Just a note, please read my post about the Bar's Leaks for anti-rust and preventative leaks. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=241299 Please follow the instructions on the back of the bottle. The item number from Bar's Leaks is "R6" and can be purchased from any local auto store for under $5. If the "R6" is not available, the bigger 10 oz. bottle "C16" can be purchased and just use 1/2 of the bottle. Thanks for the compliment and have fun.

hot tanking is not really recommended for aluminum blocks, as it tends to distort the metal. Hot tanking is more for iron blocks, which can take substantially more heat.

A little info here guys, RX-7 don't use pistons! They are all rotary powered.

Our sleeves are a little softer than some other manufactures due to the fact that we like the rings to seat a little quicker. This does not mean that our sleeves have any less strength than our competition. We still say that you will blow the head off the block befor you crack one of our sleeves!!! That is warrantied. As for the hot tank, I think it was answered in a previous post. It can distort the aluminum causing problems with bearing clearances and so forth. The sleeves can handle the heat, the block cannot, not that hot at least.

No not all are rotary powered.....I think sometime in the 80s they went to pistons but then later changed back to rotary. Not sure what years they had the piston motor. So blah!
