another OVERHEATING... please help
okay i know people are going to say search... i have... but is another problem.
I live in Miami Fl, where the temp is in the 90's and humid as all hell.
i have a new del sol radiator, with the sim fan 1400CFM 12 inch. as a pusher on the outside. i have a new thermostat, stock one from acura. i have bled the system but yesterday i drove the car for almost 2 hours... and it started to overheat. it hasnt overheated in a while... but i havent driven the car in rushhour traffic for as long as i did yesterday.
setup:
b18c
81.5 mm cp pistons
eagel rods
new bearings
gsr cams
ls tranny
skunk manifold
greddy 18g turbo kit
greddy catch can
coolant is a 50 / 50 mix (may too much coolant ?? lower the ratio it never freezes in miami )??
please help !!!!

coolant should be closer to 75 water/ 25 coolant.
still I have never overheated and i have a EG rad on a boosted b18C.
check your bleeding procedure and your fan (is it even working?)

did you get all the air bubbles out of your system?
if not you should drain all the fluid out of the overflow bottle, jack the front of the car up and start the car and let it get up to operating temperature with the rad cap off. If it bubbles then you had an air pocket in the cooling system that's causing the overheating issues

This is what i did when i had a overheating problem...Take off the radiator cap and turn on car let the car idle and wait till all the bubbles out of of the system...u would maybe wanna do a flush before doing the top. But i had massive air pockets in my radiator... And i have the koyo alu radiator. So try that and let us know what happens.

thanks guys !!!!! i appreciate the comments, i am goign to get some wetter, and drain the system and put make the mixture 80 / 20 with water to coolant.
yes the fan works its a pusher, so it is pushing air through the radiator. perhaps the fan blades are the wrong way !?! i will try this as well... but thanks !!!!!!
i will post an update and let you guys know what happens with this.

what kind of fans are you guys using?

is this 3rd gen integra? in my case overheating was due to exhaust leak plus melted a/c condenser fan.. at first i thought i was bad wiring so i unplugged the a/c condenser fan and car would overheat much faster, next i replaced the melted blades and no problems so far. if fans don't provide enough airflow it will lead to overheating,
no this is a '96 civic DX
im using B18bturbo's fan... the 12' fans... i've got several... this is the first time i have a problem in a while... then again i was in stop and go traffic for 2+ hrs. in miami at 3 o'clock........
perhaps because of the heat i may need to upgrade to a koyo ?!?!? since im always going to be in hott a$$ miami ?!?!?

i wouldnt run anything but premixed coolant from honda...if you use regular water in your engine it will cause what is called electrolisis due to the sleeves being steel and the block being aluminum....
alright guys... seems as if i had the fan blades on incorrectly for the pusher mode. i also drained 1/4 of the rad. and filled it with i bottle of wetter, and the rest with distilled water took it for a drive and man did it stay right under half way... i watched it like a hawk !!!
THANKS H-T !!!

here, as u replied, some fans can be wired to blow as a pusher, but they dont blow for ****, they WILL blow the correct direction, but with no efficeincy.
i have a fal, its made as a PULLER, i didnt know, ran as a pusher, car got warm, so i felt the fan and it hardly did ****, mounted and wired as puller and it pulls my kidneys out my mouth!
