Default another noob

Im sure this has been covered more than 100 times but i cant get a good search out of it. I just bought i complete LS swap and want to get the motor work done before i put it in. Im going to put 3000 budget into the block/head. Im going boost. Trying to do it right the first time.

Should i put the swap in and make sure everything is fine before i do anything with it? Its from a good friend who got it out of a stock integra so i dont know how much could be wrong with it.

The only thing about putting it in taking it out and putting it back in is that i have limited resources and dont have another vehicle to drive so im trying to avoid that by building before i drop it.

With the budget in mind i what to know what kind of work i should do do use a 8lbs of boost reliable car. Should i track down a head that is already semi built and go from there or just do it all myself?

First of all, what is your power goal?? PSI doesn't have any relevance when you're determining your goals...you need to have a horsepower goal in mind. What is your budget for the turbo setup? For the engine build?

Depending on your goals, you may not have to build the engine....i made 315whp on a stock GSR. The rule of thumb for any stock B series is that they're good to about 300whp in stock form.

If the motor is in good condition (and you have run the checks and maintanence necessary to ensure of this), then there is no need to do anything to the head or block to make that kind of power based upon the budget you're using.
