good head work on d16

Default good head work on d16

Ok i have a D16y7 an i am wanting to know what all i need to do a mini me swap ppl tell me to google it an i do an i never find a list so this is what this thread is for i am just needing a list. the other thing i am wanting to know, what kind of head work would i be able to do with out blowing the block if both are stock but i want to build the head a little.

You obviously haven't checked the FAQs. There isn't any head work needed to do a mini-me swap.

For what purpose? D-series heads are good for flowing nearly 300 horsepower. Trying to get naturally aspirated power out of a D-series is not cost effective.

Im just going to keep it a d16 non vtec an ill just build the head then later on the block.

I repeat. For what? You don't even know what you're building the head for. You just think that if you do somehow it will make a difference.

no the block is newly rebuilt but the head has over 270k on it lol it needs it at least cleaned an dremaled

Tell you what. Build up the head with the assumption of gaining horsepower like you see them do with the V8s on the Speed Channel.

Do you even think for one hot second that you can run the stock ECU on it? Nope. Now you have to put out cash for a chipped and socketted ECU and a tune. Look to spend at least another $500 and up.

A built head on a stock block is a waste of money. Even if you build the block up you will wind up spending a BOATLOAD of cash and? ..........wait for it........ Still be slow.
