Default Another ID my turbo thread

Hello,

I've looked around a bit without any luck. In trying to identify my Turbonetics turbo for potential use on my DD. All I can really gather is that it's a .63 A/R Stage 3 exhaust housing, but not much else.

Compressor:
20203 stamped on rear
2.167" inducer
2.996" exducer

Exhaust:
20358-03 63 STG III
2.557" inducer
2.152" exducer

Any ideas?

So it has a t04b-v or super v compressor wheel.

Nope, no sticker on this one. It's a blue backplate.

Super v (v1-v2) 400whp is MAXIMUM and will surge at about 25psi of boost pressure. If the compressor wheel gets damaged, it CANNOT BE REPLACED as that wheel has been discontinued for over 6 years.*however you might be able to searcg ebay as people sell wheels all the time, even a company like Blaast might have one but getting a new one directly from a supplier won't happen

OP,

You should disassemble the turbo and measure the shaft and find the bearing housing indentifying mark on the turbine side. This will let you know the shaft type. Wantboost is correct about the wheels but the 20203 came in a standard and big shaft size. Both sizes utilized the super v compressor wheel.

Thanks for the input. You guys must either be psychic or also on Team-Integra. The center cartridge fell out of the vice on my workbench yesterday, slightly bending a fin on the exhaust turbine. I'm torn between trying to replace/repair the turbine/shaft, or scrapping the whole thing and starting with a different turbo. I guess it depends what I can did for a replacement, adding in what it'll cost to have it rebuilt.

A standard turbine wheel and shaft for a stg 3 0.63 A/R is $90 from Performance Techniques, www.turbocharged.com. The big shaft stuff, I don't know where to look for that. You can get a rebuild kit from them also.

for the 20358-03 stage III turbine housing, those only came as a small shaft when that wheel was still being used over 10 years ago.

It wasn't until about 2007 when there was an actual option between small and big shaft. Back when the V1/V2 was still used, the only ones used for that turbine housing was T4 standard shaft, and not the Big shaft.

The big shafts were only used with the "Q" trim wheel, which is a completely different measurement of 2.693" Exducer, 3.11" Wheel diameter, not the measurements the OP is using as a stage III.*There's a BIG difference between Q trim and Stage III in terms of profile and wheel measurements. There's no need for the OP to see if its a BIG shaft

I took the old caliper out and verified it is indeed the normal shaft (1/4" @ the shaft threads). Waiting to hear back from Performance Techniques on the pictures I sent them to see if it's worth a rebuild.
