T04R compressor wheel and T04 69 trim turbine, anyone using this setup?....
I have a PT67 with T04S Compressor cover. Turbine is a T04 69trim .68 a/r housing. Does anyone use this combo? I've seen the 67mm compressor wheel used with everything from stage 5 wheel to gtq trim wheel but didn't see any using the 69 trim T04 turbine.
Thoughts on this turbo. It's new and I may sell it if i need to. Wanted to see how the turbine wheel works with the 67mm compressor before i decide to sell it tho.
School me on the + and - of the T04 69 trim in this turbo...

Well I told you it was rated by Precision for 750hp while a PT67 P trim was rated for 780hp , call the person you got it from and demand your money back!!!! J/K man, ask him what he thinks cuz he KNOWS turbos, he even has it in his name

Yeah, i could do that. But he doesn't run this set up so he may not be able to help.
I could have you test it on you car? see what it can make.
Just wondering if I'm the only one with this set up. I'll get a hold of Mr. Turbo to see what he has to say.

Arturbo: "Well they dont even offer the 67mm compressor with a 69 trim turbnie wheel. They probably do this for a reason becaause they dont want to use a small turbine wheel to drive a large compressor wheel. at the least I'd upgrade to a p-trim which shouldnt cost too much.
I just went to this turbo. A lot of people run the 67mm compressor wheel, Matt keller, James Innes racing, Brian ballard on his crx.
You probably dont want to do the GT35 turbine and GT40 compressor. the GT35 turbine is really really small.
But on the upgrade call precision and they are the ones that could swap that out for you. If its never been used I bet it will be a cheap upgrade."
Funny how precision did the upgrade to the turbo and never said anythign about not using the 69 trim wheel.
Isn't the stage 5 wheel used in the t3/t67 smaller than the 69trim wheel? And they use that wheel in the t3 housing. So the T04 69trim (bigger wheel) and the .68 a/r housing should do better than the stage 5 wheel right?

AH keep in mind the Stage 5 wheel is bigger on the Inducer than the 69 trim BUT the 69 trim has a larger Exducer. In my catalogue it shows the PT67 being sold with a 69 trim also. Garrett and Precision do not actually make a T3/T67, these are always customs from companies like Full Race and PhoenixTurbo. Both Precision and Garrett feel the T3 wheels are mismatched with a 67mm compressor wheel.

we build this turbo with as small as a stg3 T3 turbine wheel in a .63 a/r housing, with zero problems in the last 2.5 years.
im currently running a stg3 wheel version in my DD @ 25psi and zero problems
from a durability standpoint, you'll be just fine. from a flow standpoint, you could do better...
we don't even offer an o-trim turbine wheel for our T4 turbochargers anylonger.
