Default Another DIY Manifold Question

Any manifold builders i need you help..Do you suggest bolting the flange to the head and welding you tubing to the flange so the flage won't warp as much.. Need some input asap.. Gonna be welding fri night... Thanks

I never have, never had a problem and I always mig the head flange. But* I have a nice industrial belt sander to flaten the flanges after I weld them....

By all means if you have a spare head around, bolt it to the head when welding...Aluminum transfers heat away very nicely thankyou and will prevent warpage...the only thing you will find is that it can be difficult to weld around the bolts when you have it bolted to a head...some people also preheat the flange, this can reduce warpage too...
