manifold problems. advice please.

The used PeakBoost ramhorn manifold I'm using on my b18c1 civic is mildly warped (the head flange). It was straight enough to bolt onto the head and torque down, but after 3 weeks of boosting, 2 of the exhaust bolts snapped at the head and i'm wondering if its because of the mildly warped flange.
I really don't want to buy a new manifold because that is money that i don't have right now, but i saw something nice earlier.
Instead of paying ~ 900 dollars for another ramhorn manifold, PeakBoost sells a head flange for 50 bucks. I'm figuring the labor cost to have my manifold cut and have the new head flange re-tig welded onto the rest of the manifold would run me roughly 1-2 hours of labor?
I'm calling DSG tomorrow to get a more firm estimate on what that would cost, as I'm assuming that would be the more sensible route to go, rather than spending an extra 650 dollars if I don't have to... what are your thoughts?

If the head flange is warped, then get it machined/sanded down flat?

Did you originally purchase the manifold from PB or is it a hand-me-down? Call PB... even if you didn't buy it they should be able to help you out. They have a lifetime warranty on their stuff but if you have an outside source modify it you can say byebye to hte warranty.

most machine shops will charge a lot to mill a flange on a manifold. They will say they need to build a fixture etc and most want $200-$250+. Just find someplace with a good belt sander and throw it on for a few minutes

Just curious, but I'm guessing that some people in here don't understand the difference between the sanding method, and milling. Sanding creates massive amounts of heat, and if done improperly will cause the flange to warp worse. Milling is a much safer alternative with less chance of warping the flange. As far as making a fixture, it is easier with a jix/fixture, but it can be done with a simple vise. You're not talking about .250" off the thing. However you're at the mercy of the machine shop and how they want to do it. Just pay the $$ and have it done right.
Ive had good results with getting them sanded down? No heat issue whatsoever, yet being warped worse?
Be gentle on it, don't force it, then you should be ready to go with the sander.

even though we deck all headflanges before shipping, this can happen if the manifold isn't retorqued after the first few heat cycles.
the bolts will back out and allow for warpage in the flange.
if you would like to ship it in to us, we would have no problem resurfacing the head flange for you
