Default Another big ballin' d series build here!

Finished my car!!!

Thanks to:
Josh and Dan @ First State Motorsports, Ricky @ Wiredspeed for the hook up on most of the parts, turbo d series guys for the inspiration, My friend Anish for driving me to the shop a couple of times, and My girlfriend for putting up with my car crap and letting me borrow her car for 6 weeks.

my setup:
D16y8 block and head
CP 0.5mm overbore 9:1 pistons
Eagle Rods
ARP head studs
crower valvesprings
crower titanium retainers
zex 105300 cam
Ported and polished head
AEM cam gear
Ported Intake manifold

Equal length manifold
Tial BOV and 38mm Wastegate
Precision SC50 .63 a/r
3 inch DOWNPIPE WITH A/C intact!!!!
3 inch all the way back with a magnaflow muffler

I want to thank the guys at First State MotorSports for putting up with all the crappy parts i bought for this build, and I want to thank Dan specifically for building a FULL 3 INCH DOWNPIPE with AC!!!!!!!!

got the car today, it is soo ******* loud... and it hesitates alot before 3500 rpm.... anyone have issues with their zex cam being sluggish in the lower powerband?

Also i have a magnaflow race muffler im gonna weld in as a resonator... but i might just get a high flow car cuz this is absurdly loud...

Dyno and tuning on april 11th with booted hybrid
any fellow d series guys are welcome to see me make power then

A high flow cat is worth atleast 10-20 WHP and a good amount of spool, don't do that to make it quieter.

your car feel sluggish before 4000 rpm... its normal mine do the same thing its the .63 ar that make that... but hold your stering after 4800 rpm lol !

well you cant change the power band that much...the turbo is made for this type of power band : you choosed a turbo that will have TOP END... so do not expect a bomb under 4000rpm. If the turbo was on a 1.8 engine it would be different.

Well your car should feel like a normal Civic in the low end... if it has hesitation or bugging its maybe cuz your not tuned.

You should see 15 psi around 4800 rpm or so. I have the same setup than you excet for the IM, I have an Edelbrock.

edit : look at the power band, this is what you probably feel...

well the problem is i am bogging down under 4000 rpm... prolly due to the zex cam possibly...

i'm hoping to move the power band a bit with the cam gear, so i get a little more power down low...

Looks sweet! Only thing I could suggest would be a stronger ignition system.

yeah looks great!

http://www.jgycustoms.com sells resonated test pipes if you were thinking about getting a high flow cat to baffle the noise.
