Another 12-second SOHC...
EDIT: I just found a boost leak coming from my blow off valve. This was most likely the cause of my lower traps.
Well, I finally made it out to the track w/ my new setup.
I decided I would get a set of slicks before going b/c what's the point on street tires...
I ran a total of 14 times (most were between 1-4pm). I was pretty consistent w/ my times. Got several 12.6s, 12.3s and most 110mph traps. My first best was a 12.1 @ 111 w/ a 1.8 60' at around 4pm... But later around 7pm I ran another 12.1 @ 110 cutting a 1.7 60' (slightly lower ET, slightly slower trap). 11's are around the corner.
I weighed the car before racing and it's at 2180 w/ me in it (3/4 tank of gas). And that's actually the weight of the car how it is driven everyday, GUTTED!
I will be going back soon w/ a retune for open downpipe and I'm going to run a ram air setup to my headlight.
Let me know what you guys think.
[i'm also going to post this in the drag racing forum]

Re: Another 12-second SOHC... (nerdsports)
that weight and MPH, looks liek yoru making 240-250whp range.
Nice times tho, try some test&tunning and i bet you'll see easy 11's.
try removing your rear bumper during your runs to prevent some drag, also try some 200MPH tape on the front bumper. Tape it up so that it smoothes it out as much as possible but leaving the airflow to the intercooler.
That should be MORE than enough to get you 2-4mph more and that extra .1-.2 you need to break in the 11's.
Ive tried it on a NA sohc before and dropped .3 tenths and gained 3-4 mph.
Good Luck

thanks for the tips. i plan on running open downpipe next time w/ a ram air for the turbo intake. and i plan to get another rear bumper w/ speed holes or something to reduce the drag...
this was my first REAL time at the track i'd say (last time was a nightware w/ my old setup). the slicks are 23x8x13 w/ 13x.5 lenso VPDs.
and im making 273whp/224wtq.
thanks for all the comments guy.

I agree with jdms1eeper. The mph seems kinda low for that whp in such a light car. Great runs though. Killer 60'

Re: (nerdsports)
Yeah you should be trapping 116-117mph. The 111mph trap only works out to about 234whp.
Just a note- I have found that on a dyno with the hood open and fans blowing my IAT's were over 50 degrees cooler than real world conditions at the track. And my mph reflected it too- definitely lower than the dyno would indicate.
Real world= less actual whp than on the dyno.
Nice setup and times anyway though!

makes perfect sense dude
i'm just showing you what i dyno'd... i dont know what its putting down everyday in real world temperature and all that... you get me??
im going to hit the dyno again to retune w/ open downpipe and maybe a cam =X...
