Anodizing Intercooler?

Well you would only paint the outside front. You wouldnt want to paint the fins all the way back. So i wouldnt think it would make much difference.

Color doesn't have anything to do with getting rid of heat. Black will ABSORB heat better than any other color. I think you just got screwed up. Most people go with black to hide their intercoolers to go with that stealth look.
As far as painting goes, I don't see a big problem with it. Just hit the fins up at an angle so you only paint the outside 1/4" or so of the fins. Getting paint down inside the fins is bad and doesn't serve a purpose.
