Anodizing Intercooler?
Im wanting to do somthing so that the intercooler draws less attention to its self...and don't want to paint it. would anodizing it black be a good idea?
If I understand what anodizing is (which I probably dont) it does on add any material to the peice being anodized like paint or powder coating would do, it actually changes the color of the metal being anodized. So, I don't see how it could insulate the intercooler and keep it from cooling properly.
Does anyone think this would be a bad idea?
Does anyone know of any companies that do anodizing?

Re: Anodizing Intercooler? (InfamousRS)
Im vaguely familiar with it. Playing paintball since I was 8, I have seen many ways to anodize the bodies of the 'guns, barrels, grips. I do have several anodized pieces, and when they became scratched...it was silver metal underneath.
Dont know if that helped..to the top, im curious

I dont know what is worse...buying fat girl pantyhose or hooking up with one to get them after your date.
hey RS i found this.. hope it helps
"The following procedure is for anodizing aluminum parts. Anodizing will protect the aluminum parts by making the surface much harder than natural aluminum. Aluminum oxide is grown out of the surface during anodizing and is extreemly hard. The porous nature of the anodized layer allows the product to be dyed any color that is required"

Re: Anodizing Intercooler? (crosskali)
one thing to remember about anodizing is that it takes off a small layer of aluminum every time you dip it, my dad ruined his rear sets on his ducati because the anodizer messed up and dipped them too many times, so anything with tight clearences should either be annodized very carefully or not at all
