I'm an Amsoil user and I love it. I use their TSO line for engine oil and the syncromesh in the tranny. I have never had a problem with either.

What weight do you run? I have been running castrol 10-40 in my 400whp b16 for 15,000 miles but I have considered switching to amsoil. Thing is, some amsoil rep told me I should run their 0w30... I understand it's good oil but 0 weight in a turbo car?

Re: AMSOIL OR REDLINE (powerofdreams8)
the 0W is the winter weight. While it is thinner in the cold, it will still give you good protection whether turbo or not. If you go to http://www.synthetic-oil-tech....l.htm - will answer your question about the oil.

Re: AMSOIL OR REDLINE (Turbocivic94)
Okay, some will say apples and oranges mixing dirtbikes and cars, but i race a heavily built fourstroke (honda) that revs to 12K a lot. I sent it out last year to get bored, stroked, ported, dad dah dah, and my engine builder called asking what oil we ran. We said REDLINE why? "Oh, we were just wondering because you said this was the stock cylinder and rings, and all your hone marks are perfect, just like new and dirtbikes in several instances will get a year, year and a half before the the hone marks are pretty much gone or patchy" We (my dad and I) run fully synthetic 10w 40 redline in my bike, superlight gear oil in the trannyand in my car just the MTL in the tranny side. We currently have 7 cases of REDLINE products on the shelfs in the garage. My car oil however, I run AMSOIL for the simple reason, it is cheap and isnt beaten on like my bike. I am friends with the local amsoil dealer and get it at cost, while we pay retail for redline. I would run either any day, both are great products but I still favor REDLINE for the real high performance motor. Cant go wrong either way!!
