Default Am I just being paranoid? Blowby issue?

Necessary background info:

97 civic EX, greddy kit, stock Y8, 128k miles, rebuilt head w/ARP's (1.5k miles), 2.5" test pipe/exhaust, DRAG III FMIC, blah blah.

I started it this morning (cold), and gave it a quick short rev (to about 3k) before putting it in reverse, and a LITTLE white smoke came out of the exhaust as I was backing out of the driveway.

Then it was gone? Only did it when the car was cold-started for a second then stops a second later and doesn't smoke at all when driving.

Was it just a bit of blowby since the motor's kinda old?

Also, I'm running a hose from my valve cover to my intake on my greddy pipe, just as they recommend. Would switching to a catchcan be a better way to run it? Am I getting oil on my turbo's blades?

EDIT: Forgot to add that I have opened the oil cap when idling, as well as the dipstick, and there's no smoke coming out.

when the motor is cold, the pistons don't seal as well, I wouldn't worry about it, if it does it when the motor is up to opporating temp, then worry a little.

Okay, because like I said it only did it for a second on the initial cold-start.

Just checking.

in the moring, there is condensaiton on the inside of your exaust piping. when you start your car for the first time in the morning, the heat from the exaust evaporates the water and it gets blown out through the muffler where it hits cool air again and turns to white "smoke". its nothing to worry about and has nothing to do with blow-by

Your test pipe could also play a part in why you're seeing the smoke. There's a lot more stuff you'll see out of the tail pipe that you normally won't see with a cat.

Now for my next "I'm paranoid as hell" questions:

-My AIT sensor is hanging in my engine bay, meaning not in the charge or intake pipe. Is that affecting my performance? Are intake temps important with the greddy blue box?

-I am running a rubber hose from my valve cover to my greddy intake pipe, just as they recommend. Should I switch to a catch can? If so, what are the real benefits of it?

Why isn't it in the intake manifold like it should be?

On SOHC's, they come from the factory lodged in the OEM intake pipe, which is now my Greddy charge pipe

I drilled a hole and put it in the intake pipe with a rubber gourmet... took 5 mins to do... I think its for idle adjust when the intake temps change! I don't think it would hurt your performance I had mine out too back in the day.
