alterntive to a GT35R
I had a Gt35R .63 before and loved it, had instant respool and i only rev'd to 7500 on my 1.8T VW.... now what other turbo is close to it but without the price tag.... I just might suck it up and get it again but in .82a/r with v-band

gt3076r
The GT3076R packs the 500HP capable, quick spooling 52 trim 76mm compressor found in the popular GT3037 with the high flowing 90 trim turbine wheel found in the bigger GT3071R.

Umm the bigger 3071? Not bigger than the 3076-xx in anyway.

Slight correction. the 700177-11 wheel is only through HKS, and is the Actual GT3037 52 trim 76mm exducer compressor wheel, and a 54.97inducer diameter.
Perhaps you're referring to the commonly used GT3076 700177-12 56 trim 76.2mm exducer with 57.02mm inducer wheel, that is about the same cost to the GT35R. There is a BIG difference.

Re: alterntive to a GT35R (TheShodan)
Everyone who doesnt know any better calls the 3076R-12 a "3037". Macque hit the nail on the head. The 3037 is actually a HKS turbo with slightly different specs and about twice the price tag.
To the original poster - consider a precision SC61. Same compressor size as the 3582R.

When you shift do you have to wait for re-spool, my old gt35R .63 is was instant i loved it lol.... So you guys think a t3/67 h.o is a good turbo

Re: alterntive to a GT35R (D-meet07)
I used to have a gt3561s (basicly a non-bb gt35r)
Replaced it with a twinscroll Holset HX35 this year. It spools sooner, but response on it isnt as sharp. But who cares when I have 20psi at 3300 and the gt3561s had to go to 3800 to get 20psi...

my gt3561s was like that too, Instant!
I have to shift faster with the holset or it will have a little lag.
gt35 indeed is a great turbo. And it doest spool much slower, if any, than a gt3071/3076.

get a Borg Warner S200....there is a local guy (he's on HT too) who swears by that turbo. I've seen him make ridiculous power w/ it and it spools fast too.....its at least worth checking out

Oh yeah, the S258 is a great combo for the vw. As I stated in my last post.
