Default Alcohol injection help asap please.

I would like to know what size/kind of nozzles you guys are using for 500+ WHP. I dont know much about fittings and I checked a couple websites and still dont understand what I need exactly. I have my pump mounted and ran 1/4" coolant hose into the engine bay. I know I need 1/4" hose barb fitting for the hose but I dont know how the nozzles are so therfore I dont know what I need to connect to it. Help is greatly appreciated.

i want to know why you think its neccessary to utilize alcohol injection on a 500hp engine ? there are plenty of cars running very simple setups(reliable) without all the "gadgets"

you should be able to use a nitrous nozzle, and play with jet settings.... best spot for this would be in the intake tube before the throttle body(about a foot and a half before) to cool the intake charge off.

i doubt your intake temps are getting above 150 with that power.(and no alcohol injection)

it is just for safety because I am running on pump gas. I wasnt aware that it is nitrous nozzles that are used for this applications, or do you mean a nitrous nozzle CAN be used also? If so, then what nozzles are normally used? also what kind of fittings are needed to connect to a 1/4" hose barb fitting?

basically all I have is a 1/4" coolant hose in my engine bay....lol. But I know that it would have to connect to a hose barb fitting. the other end of that hose barb fitting would have to be what size to connect to the nozzle? I think I am gonna go with the nozzle on devils own website. So what would I need to connect a hose barb fitting to this nozzle?

"All our Nozzles have a 1/8" NPT male threads " quoted off the web site you linked

I bet if you screwed it into a 1/8 NPT female thread it would work

This is the thing that confuses me about this nozzle. I see the male threaded part, but isnt that the part that goes into the intake stream (the end with the meshy thing). On the other side I see a bolt head. Wait a minute, does this nozzle uses a banjo fitting for alky/water feed?

why dont you look on http://www.kinsler.com for some real alcohol injection nozzles. theses things they give you with the injection kit are lame.

check out some mechanical injection nozzles here
http://kinsler.com/Cat_31_Whol...n.pdf (start on catalog pg 31)

here is what i found on the "devils own" kit....seems rather odd. seems backwards ..... i dont see how it can spray with the screeen piece facing toward the hose, rather than facing the inside of the intake/charge pipe...

The screen is just a filter to keep crap from clogging the nozzle.

I installed and tuned an ams alcohol kit (alkycontrol) on an gt35r evo tuned to 28psi on pump gas. The kit came with a m15 nozzle.

You will need something better than coolant line for the feed. A good pump is going to be putting out like 100psi and methanol will break down a rubber hose.

they have a nozzle calculator on the site, I use it and it recomend a 7.6 gph nozzle for 500hp, so I am running a 7gph nozzle.

So what kind of tubing/hose would I need?

yes and yes.

the screen is on the feed side of the nozzle..just like in the picture. you thread it through your intake pipe and into a female 1/8" npt fitting of some kind.

the line most people use is a 1/4" nylon/plastic hose with instant fittings to seal and couple it. it's very inexpensive and most types are good for corrosive and high presure liquid. all the waterinjection places will sell you the parts you need.
