AFC question....
I need to know the answer to this so if you can help out it would be great. I am going with the afc hack when I boost my D16 in april, now I heard somewhere I need to retard my timing, is this true? And I was also told that I should buy a bosst timing master in order to do this or else I would end up losing lowend power by manually adjusting my timing. Can someone help me???
afc sucks now compared to what else is available. do your self a favor and search "uberdata" and "chrome" they modify your ecu so u have a hondata pretty much.
Dont u need obd1 to run those standalone systems? Im going to run the hack this spring too, and yes i think u need to retard the timing a bit...im not sure how much...anyone?

no btm is actually NOT a good idea for the AFC hack..The ecu will throw timing to its max..and the BTM ONLY pulls timing when you start to boost, it sounds like a good idea but the fact is it doesnt pull enough to compensate. an MSD 6 plus is a better idea becasue although it may not pull timing under boost, it will allow you to pull timing across the entire RPM range statically. thus somewhat correcting the AFC hacks side effect of rocketing the ignition. search around, type "afc timing" it is explained in a few threads that come up.
EDIT: i made a thread on this a few days ago, check it out. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=773290

the btm will not help you in the area you need the most retard.
