Default AFC HACK, injector problems.

Heres whats going on..

In in the middle of running my afc hack. I decided to put and injectors in first. The hack is going on a d16y7 motor (obd2).

Heres where it gets funky. We put the injectors on, made the injector wires longer and put the obd1 clips on. Instead of running a resisitor box we ran 10watt 10ohm resistors to each injector.

Once we started the car, it sounds like im running on 3 cylinders, and Im running a code. I believe its 72 or 73 , which is misfiing. We switched the injector wires but theres still no luck, its running like ****.

I was wondering what are the color wires for the injectors?
1- yellow
2- blue
3- red
4- brown
I think thats how i have it.

Im really confused as to why the car isnt running like it should. The afc is set correctly. Im thinking that the injectors might be dirty. There 2g dsm 450's
my next guess is the wiring is screwed up. Anyone have any ideas??

Drew

I tried doing the same thing on the exact same setup and had problems as well. The car never ran right and threw codes no matter how the afc was set. What do you have your settings at on the afc? and to answer your other question
1- brn
2- red
3- blu
4- yel

so it looks like you might have them hooked up wrong.....

black/yel need to have the resistors on them and the colored wires need to be installed on the correct cylinders. i don't have my repair manual, but if you have one it'll show you the order of the colored inj wires. also doublecheck your afc settings/setup. also doublecheck your afc wiring. i've heard of a lot of folks that look at the ecu plug wrong and wire it to the wrong ecu wires. you can doublecheck the wire colors with a repair manual also.

If it still does this. Im going to put the stock injectors back on and send the injectors out to be cleaned.

Did you test the injectors before putting them in?
I know there is a trick where you hook a wire to the positive and a wire to the negative of a 9volt battery and then with the injector in hand you touch the wires on the injector plug and you should here clicking if its good...

Also I dont know about the 10watt 10ohm, I have heard of people doing something like that... I did the resistor box once, never got codes but the car was known to buck which got really annoying so I just used the FMU, missing link, some prelude injectors (290cc from a 97+ prelude) and an SAFC and had an intank 255 fuel pump, and that worked great.... I was pushing 7-8psi on a LS/vtec at the time, it ran great....

You have the AFC set to Pressure 06 in and 06 out right? Double check it.

maybe ur injectors pulse signal is a lil off

change all the resistors to 6 ohm resistors... Honda resistors are 6 ohms and that way u can have it running more like it should

Sorry that this might me a little off topic, but you guys know more then me here, I just installed a s afc 2 on a 94 civ ex, thats a obd1, p28. When I turn the key to acc, and I use the display mode on the unit to look at the o2 sensor I get a reading of around 13-15%, however, the exhaust was still disconnected, and the o2 sensor was too. I am pretty sure of that, but the sensor might have been hooked up still. Would it recieve a reading still?

Another question, what should the different in and out settings be on the pressure and other functions? Thanks
