AFC with blue box. Someone has to know for sure or has done this.
I want to know if it is possible to run an afc with the blue box. I have seen topics that say they don't think so. but does anyone know for sure.
I was using a hypertech shogun powertuner with my blue box up untill last week and it seemed to work. i had them both on there for at least 6 months. unfortunatly i think i fried my shogun while giving my car a jump start. But i could turn the fuel way up on the shogun just to test if it did anything and it would make the car bog as if running really rich so i assumed it was making adjustments.
the shogun connector goes in between were the blue box and the stock ecu so i would assume thats were you would want to wire the afc.
Any information or anybody who has done this in real life please reply. I'm sure there are lots of people interested because it would save the hassle of resistor box wiring and dsm injectors. plus save a little cash to.

My old setup:
Stock GSR motor
Greddty turbo kit
Chipped p28 with Mugen program (still kept it from when I was NA)
VAFC
Greddy Blue Box
MIssing Link
310 injectors
12:1 FMU
255 lph Walbro Intank Fuel pump
FPR
(don't wanna hear it)
Yes, it is possible to run an AFC and the blue box. I ran that for the better portion of about a year. My car on the dyno saw about 12.6 air/fuel, and put out ~240whp/190 lb/ft tq.

ya i did it no prob. just remember the blue box can only operate up to 11.3 psi, and that the afc is rpm based, not load. but the hondata is just alitle more though so why bother?

the hondata seems way more exspensive especially if you want the ability to tune yourself. this seems like a reasonable and in exspensive way to have low boost tunability.

the afc is your varible device in the chain, so splice it in after the blue box. so; sensor-blue box-afc-ecu, for such inputs as map, and airflow.

Why not just go AFCHack and cancel out the blue box all together? That's what I did and look at the times my heavy *** del sol ran with stock clutch :-P

i agree. why create more problems. just wire the afc like normal, and adjust accordingly.

Re: (teamlegacy)
i've heard the afc hack has bad vaccum to boost transition and bad part throttle running. since 90% of the time i'm at part throttle i would like it to be smoother.
Plus I like the idea of having the blue box as a safety zone. I know it runs nice and safe and it rides smooth as hell and seemed to give me good power. 188whp and 167wtq seemed decent to me at 8 psi. So i guess you could say i'm just a believer in the blue box but the ability to adjust in that safe zone is what i'm looking for.
I miss my shogun the raised rev limit was the best thing ever
