Default AEM EMS quesion

00 ITR. If you look at my sig, you'll see my set up. I'm thinking about not using the secondary O2 sensor. I'm gonna run a test pipe connecting my DP and exhaust. I'm gonna put a bung at the beginning of the pipe for the primary o2 and put a bung in my DP at the end for my AEM wide band. When starting up the EMS for the first time, will it throw a code for missing secondary? Does anyone have a better idea? Thanks.

The AEM doesn't "set codes" per say. It will not read off the second o2 on a Honda unless you tell it to. It uses the primary o2 input for o2 feedback.

i think the aem forum has a thread on how to do a close and open o2 feedback. is that what he needs to setup jared? a closed o2 setup?

The secondary O2 sensor is an OBD2 component. The AEM EMS is OBD1. Therefore it won't throw the code. I wish however that the AEM EMS could be OBD2 so I don't have to change so much crap to pass emissions here in ATL, GA area.

there is ems available for obd2a and obd2b. but just because it's obd2 compliant does not mean that you'll still pass emissions.

the secondary o2 sensor is only used to check on the cat. the ecu compares the reading between the primary and secondary. i think it's when the ecu reads they're the same then you get a CEL. which is one i have right now. it sucks throws the car into limp mode.
