Just wondering, im getting ready to start my car, and I downloaded a base map for my EMS....do I need the software that the basemap was made with to load it up, or can I load it up using the software that I have now that came with the unit...Im in the process of downloading the new software, if i dont need the new software, then how do i load it ?

Also, if I do need the new software, do I have to download the exact version ?

 

the base maps on aem's forum are for firmware version 0.89. you have to upgrade the firmware on your ems to 0.89 before you upload a base map to it.

 

what version is the base map that you downloaded? I'm pretty sure that all the versions have to match up for it to work correctly. Do you know what version of the firmware you have in your ems? Once you install the new software that you are downloading you should read the instruction manuals in the instruction folder. They will explain the procedure to update everything to the current files. Its really easy once you read the manual.

To upgrade firmware, go to ECU->In System Programming.. and upload the
.89 version.

 

hmm, i didnt get this basemap off of the aem forum, i got it directly from a dude.... the software version has to match up with the basemap version ? the basemap is v0.89

 

is there anywhere i can download the manual, it did not come with my EMS....

The manuals are included in the new software. Go to the aem board and then the aem pro forum. there is a sticky topic that has the downloads for the new software. Once you install go to program files/aem/aempro/instructions/aem pro user guide v.1.16.1 all the information is there to do the upgrade. The firmware upgrade instructions are on page 5 of the pdf
