Default AEM PEMS users..

I seem to be having trouble getting the AEM to give me a start up map for my prelude. Everytime I go thru the ecu initializations it always gives me a base startup map for a civic-integra. Now.. the 1 time I actually got the car to start w/ that map, it was awful....... can anyone please help give me some insight on this problem? I'd appreciate it very much.. thanks,

Is your car stock or FI? If FI, you are suppose to try using the maps from the Vortech Supercharged Civic. I don't know if anyone has succeeded in creating a good base map for a Prelude yet. There are two people on PO.com that use the EMS.

Heh...I know exactly what you're going through. If you go to AEM's download section and look at the filenames the b-series map is used for _alot_ of different motors. The map wouldn't start mine either, even with my factory injectors in place. I've got mine idling and the low throttle areas pretty solid now (still on the rich side as my wbo2 wasn't complete) but I should be able to get it dialed in pretty well tonight as my VX sensor should be at my house when I get home. You can check out my current maps at http://ian.clendaniel.net/car/aemems but I'll warn you, they're for 720cc injectors, 9:1 compression, and will only be good for idle and low throttle. Check it in a day or so and I should have some better tunes with the wbo2.

Hey Clendaniel, are you going to tune your car by yourself? No dyno or wideband until you are done tuning? No good shops around you or are you just a hands on guy?

neither. The VX sensor is for a wideband setup so I am using a wideband and it will be going on a dyno to be doublechecked as soon as I'm happy with the way it's running. I'm somewhat of an **** do-it-yourselfer and want to get it close beforehand.
