AEM EMS Dynoed!!!!!
the hp rating is this the corrected hp or the regular. i have heard that the corrected horse power rating is lower then with some dynos. that is a **** load of power for only 7psi (correct me if i am wrong)
i just wish i had a b16 laying around to use for the weekend

Im sorry to hear Victor lost the motor yesterday on the rollers. That thing is insanly fast for a daily driven car.Only car ive been in that actually made me nervous.Oh well, now he has the oppurtunity to make it even faster
wow, nice power! have you pulled the head yet to determine that the sleeves broke?
so was this with the .82 a/r exhaust housing and the

Yes, you are correct, it is a T3/T04E .82 A/R Turbine Housing Stage III Turbine & .60 A/R Compressor Housing 57 trim Compressor!

I think it detonated! Arturbo was right. We pulled it apart last night and it looks as if it detonated and popped the headgasket! The sleeve then cracked. The pistons are ok from just looking at them, but I will send them to the machine shop to be Magnafluxed! The head will need some major restoration as the surface was scared.

Even wit hthe speedpro running perfect AF ratios you can not somtimes here detonation. We came up with a new way of tuning now down here. It helps out especialyl when you really want to open envelope on a honda motor. ART and direp972*(chris) can vouce on how we tuned the race car. WE used a bolt and some tubing with a medical grade stethoscope hooked to the block to hear for detonation. That is the best way to tune right there especialyl when you basing everything off AF ratios. I can run 11.5:1 perfect AF ratio and still sometims can detonation. I think you could have saved the motor if you did that practice.

You should have a friend with a 99 Civic Si, that is doing a B18A block(fully built), B20 head(fully done up), turbo and AEM EMS system hanging around. Then it's easy to come up with a B16 motor.
Now only if I can get my car together and start to tune the AEM

WOW!!!!!!
My AEM EMS just came in. I'm waiting for 450cc DSM injectors, resistor boxes and a better fpr before I install it. Should be getting started in a week or two.

Louis is for real, colin.
With that kind of HP you no doubt had a fairly aggresive ignition curve, no? Any idea what it was exactly?
A small theory i have about cracked sleves comes form the phenomena of work hardening. This is the idea that small bits of detonation add up over time and every single time the motor has even a tiny bit of knock, the sleeve actually becomes harder (and more brittle) think of a piece of copper, you bend it and it becomes harder and harder until it fractures from bending. Its possible that without the AEM EMS the engine had some detonation somwhere in the band and once you started to tune the engine, the little bits got greater and greater etc etc.
nonetheless this is all theory babble, and the motor should be sleeved anyway
let me know if you guys need help with anything louis.

I would like to see the spare b16 dynos now..those are just some great numbers you put up.

Sorry Louis, but
I will give you credit for ordering the piston, rods, headgasket, modify the ignition, and get me started in the right direction.
But I dont remember you helping me pull the motor taking it apart or taking it to the machine shop, and putting it back together.
I will say Dan, and Marcus spent plenty of hours at the shop with me to finish the project for last IDRC.
I have say that Ben, Ryan, Keith, and myself were the only ones tuning my car.
By the time you showed up I was already making dyno runs.
Plus you were sitting outside talking with allen, and ben, but you tried to download the aem's manual for me.
Timing may have been the issue but I exceed the limits of the block.
I am changing my hole set up, but I dont think you have told me of your new ideas for the car.
Thats o.k.
I've taking care of it I have ordered all the parts and the block is at the machine shop.
Thanks for all your info XS Engineering, and VSRacing.com
Louis your still my bestfriend.

Viren does that guy who listened for your detonation charge much? APEXSER- WOW, so this is the infamous B18Bomber from LS1.com... hehe ive seen quite a few of your kill stories.. your cars making some Unbelievable power.. would u attribute most the power to the .82 exhaust? i know tuning made a big differnce too but on 7psi all I can say is WOW!
