Default AEM EMS boost control function

Can this be hooked up to control boost by itself or does it work in conjuction with an EVC?

TIA

I believe that its supposed to control boost by itself. I hear that alot of people use an external boost controller b/c its easier to tune. You can set the boost at 0 all the way across and then set ur EVC accordingly for the desired boost. Then just tune ur EMS for the correct a/f, timing, etc. I think that it would be better to learn to tune the boost via the EMS b/c it is a feature that u payed for and in the long run it will help u be a better tuner and quite possibly in turn have ur car run alot better.

in order to use the boost control function, you have to buy a GM Boost Solenoid. i cant remember the part #, but if you go on the aem message boards its on there somewhere.

also, can an output of the EMS be hooked up to a display (like an LCD screen) to show realtime maps of various inputs it's recieving?

like maving it display the current a/f ratio, boost level, or something like that?
