aem 1020 help
the cal. you trying to use must not be ver1.19, if you pc and ecu are now both 1.19, you cant use the 1.11 cals or any other cals for the 1.19.
you may have to convert that cal if its in 1.19 form

I'm sure he is using a 1.19 cal. I told him where the startup calibrations are. It sounds like he is having a connection problem; serial to usb adapter. Will see.
Make sure you don't have an older version of AEMPro or AEM Pro files installed on your computer.
How-to upgrade your AEM EMS firmware to 1.19:
Open AEMPro.exe. The following screen will pop-up. Select the corresponding port.

Once you have done that goto the "ECU" tab then down to "Update EMS firmware..." shown below.

The screen below will pop-up. Click "Next>" twice to select the 1.19 firmware.

Select "AEM15 v1.19b.FIN" and click "Open" .

Click "Next>" again to select the calibration. If you dont have a calibration start with the proper startup calibration. In my case 1040 Turbo 440.V1.19.cal . This is just a startup calibration. Dont expect to just upload it and start your car.

The following will pop-up next. Wait for it to finish.

After that the following will pop-up. Wait for it to finish.

Same as above.

Click "OK". Cycle the ignition twice.

Now go start tuning

The only times I have seen that were when the serial to usb cable was bad and another version of AEMPro was still on the computer. Try uninstalling 1.19. After that search the Windows directory for "aem". If a DLL file comes up with aem in the name, I forget the specific file name, delete it and reinstall 1.19.
