ok just picked up a 1020 ecu never used its got a .40 version on it and im trying to upgrade to 1.19 but its not letting me... can someone walk me threw the upgrade i already have a 1.19 base map im goin to use
You can search the AEM Forum but I believe you can only update from .94 version with the firmware download.I think you need to change the chip in the box if you have a real old version. If you have a burner you can reburn it or call AEM and they can send you a new chip.
do you have the 1.19 coversion on your PC? you need to install version 1.19 on you PC first then got to install ecu and find 1.19 and install the firmware

That means that the file (map) in the ecu is still version .40, you have to put version .40 on you PC to download the map......
or update the ecu's firmware, which is in the ecu drop down menu, but you will lose whatever file is already on the ecu...
hope that helps

What are you having problems with? Install the latest version of 1.19 on your laptop. Make sure you have the right port selected under "ECU -> Connection Port/Ports". Next "ECU -> Update EMS firmware". Go through that process and your set.

If you wanna keep the map thats on the ecu, you have to have ver .40 to on you PC to communicate to the ecu

No need to send the ECU back to them. You or your tuner can upgrade the firmware.

The AEMPro Startup Calibrations are under C:\Program Files\AEM\AEMPro\Startup Calibrations\Honda-Acura . The AEMPro Firmware files are under C:\Program Files\AEM\AEMPro\FIN Files .
ok heres what i did went to install ecu 1.19 then added it then verified.... went to update firmware... went threw that and got to the point were it said select cal. file so i tried to do the 1020 440 turbo basemap clicked open and it said no installations for this ecu type or version?
Cycle the ignition. Make sure you selected the right port for the laptop to connect to the AEM EMS. Sounds like you are using a Serial to USB adapter. When I first started using AEM EMS that's the problem I ran into. Try it a couple times.
