Advantages of LS Tranny?
I have a friend with an NA LS/VTEC that will switch trannies with my flat out. I have a turbo Civic Si with forged rods and pistons. Is there any advantages to running the LS tranny pushing about 10 psi on the street or should I keep the stock Si Tranny? If I should switch, what should I look for to make sure its in good condition?
Thanks,
Craig

Re: Advantages of LS Tranny? (hawjdude)
The only way the ls tranny will help is if you have a small turbo. I get full boost on my t3/t4 around 5200. If i put an ls tranny there, it would take for ever to hit full boost. Just keep your tranny.

if you do alot of highway racing then go for it...that's the only advantage. if you're strictly a 1/4 mile racer then stay with the b16. if it was me, i'll keep the b16

Keep the SI tranny. The nice thing about the Si tranny is if you want longer gear ratios..you can just get a larger tire (ie slicks). (Its a little harder the other way around)
