Is this a good thing to add an LS tranny for boost. I currently have a b16 with t3/t4 turbo, turbo starts to spool around 2700 and I have a Y1 with LSD, should I swap out for an LS tranny.

my guess is that you may like the LS tranny because it will allow you a longer time to sit in the boost. Some people like to spin their turbo vtec cars up really fast like with YS1 trannys or Type R trannys. It's all a personal preference. If you daily the car I would go with the LS because, it allows you to stay in the sweet spot of the powerband and you don't have to downshift as much.

 

well i would say stick with a gsr tranny and change the final drive if you want to top end the car.

 

yea in a way thats true but it all depends what you are looking for if you want low et's or high mph. either way with a gsr with and ls final drive or and complete ls tranny your still going to top out at 160 165mph. tranny prefence depends on what you are going to use it for

 

I ran my turbo ls integra with a gsr tranny and it felt like I was running through firsta nd second as fast as I could shift. I replaced it with an LS tranny and I like it much better. It is much better for all around driving (on track or around town). Just my 2 cents

Your going to miss that LSD though

 

Thanks alot fellows, I do drive my car daily and the gears know are very close so I'm thinking of trading my friend for his ls tranny but should I try to get some money since mine has the lsd, eventhough third and fourth grind a little and his is rebuilt.
