Icon2 ? About turbo

I currently have a MasterPower turbo part# 802100-048 (here's a link for info on the turbo http://www.masterpowerusa.com/high%2...nce%202010.pdf) for my 84.5 mm ls/vtec.
The turbo made 332whp and 242wtq on 7psi.

My question is why does masterpower say the turbo is good for 300-350hp when it is making that kind of power at 7lbs ??

Shouldn't the turbo be capable of higher levels of boost?

I'm kinda new to the boosted scene so sorry if my questions are too noobish lol..

Give me some time to find the dyno sheet.. I bought the engine with a spun bearing with only 5k miles on it..

I know that is the turbo I have cause I looked up the part number.

Turbos that are "rated" are based upon the crank atover 70%, not to the wheels. In your case making that much power out of only 7 psi is pretty good. that means the turbo is larger that what it was rated at. Using a Garrett map may not help you at this case. I'm just curious as to why worry, when it make the power you were looking for? is it causing any problems?

For those that don't know.. Masterpower from Brasil is completely different than XS power,and CX power

I was curious cause I have yet to run this engine. The engine is currently being put back together..

I am wanting to shoot for more power considering this engine is stable for 700ish at the wheels. My goal for the near future is in the 500ish range at the wheels. As soon as I get the engine broke in I had planned on upping the boost or go with a larger ballbearing turbo to get the power I am looking for.

Like I said I am new to the forced induction area still learning as I go.. {^_^}

So can I just turn up the boost and gain much more power or will I quickly exceed the turbo limits ?

You'll have to find out, man. there's nothing more we can say about this unit that you have. Dyno it until it can't make anymore power, or your fuel hardware won't keep up.
