? about intercoolers......... inlets and outlets

Default ? about intercoolers......... inlets and outlets

I recently bought a intercooler.... it had a 2in inlet and a 2.5 in oulte..... why do them ake them like this??? is it because of pressure drops or some thing??? or soemhting with the pressure??!!???? thasnk ! I am thinking about just hacking it

I believe inlet is smaller than outlet to speed up the velocity at which the air travels??

most turbos have a 2" or smaller outlet so it makes sense to keep it the same diameter from compressor cover to IC inlet. Less turbulance = less heat = happy motor. I measured a to4e cover the other day and the inside diameter was like 1 7/8" still smaller than most 2" piping.
