can be a sign of too large a turbo for your set-up. Your turbo spools with exhaust HEAT. If you are not making enough heat at lower rpm, it's not gonna spool until it's ready

I thinks its the downpipe more than the turbo size...12psi at 4000rpm isn't bad, but the throughput may not be there to flow more...try a 2.25 or 2.5" pipe...if you want to lose the AC, 3" would be good too

a 14b is pretty decently sized for a small guy.
im my bros talon(Stock) ..2.0 L .. id say it really kicks at 3 k.
a d16 with slighly higher comp... 4 k isnt that bad and seem pretty normal.

dude get yourself a 3" downpipe along with a 3" exhaust and you will spool quicker,or better yet run open downpipe

like mentioned above, if the entire exhaust is 2.5 or more, you will see a difference. .5 may not seem like a lot, but if you multiply that by the length of your entire exhaust (about 4 meters long)..it adds up to a lot more exhaust throughput and velocity, which equals a faster spool...

but having said that, 12psi @4000 sound pretty good considering what you got!

downpipe is pretty tiny.

Get a bigger downpipe and exhaust just like the others mentioned.

Get an aftermarket lightweight flyweel, some pulley's and larger exhaust piping also get a boost controller to tune your turbo.

I didn't know boost controllers tuned your turbo

I ran it for a while with the same 2" mandrel bent open d/p. I spooled damn near the same with open downpipe believe it or not.

2" even scrapes off teh friggin crossmember there is no room, and i dont have ac

I have a 2" exhaust the whole way back just regular brospeed cat back with test pipe. I am low on money and went that route.

What sucks is, with my stock cam i gotta shift at 7k, that puts me at like 3500 and i bog down. I figure the solution to that is put my stage II na crane cam i had in it before i went turbo back in. I can shift that at 7500 thus putting me in the sweet zone between shifts. I also have the small shitty *** 1g dsm ic piping on it, so putting some bigger piping and getting that heat soaked engine mounted IC out sidemounted would help get some more air back in the engine.

What do you guys think, i should be happy with it right now?

Thanks again!
