7psi would be good. You still should get a bigger fuel pump and injectors, aand get a tune..that way there is a better chance your motor wont blow so soon.

Well you need a tune first of all. Its not about the amount of boost as much as it is about the power. There are a few people making 400WHP on a stock internals GSR. But that is unlikely that you will be able to make that power. And if you plan to make any kind of power you will need what the guy above me said; Injectors, and a fuel pump.

You "Figured 7 or 8psi"? how do you know 7 or 8 psi will or will not detonate? you dont... and ideal psi is not where you want to look. leave that up to your tuner, ask him questions while tuning.. thats the only thing i can think of that will get you an answer on psi.... GLWTuning.

There is a lot of people making 350+++ hp on stock blocks. There is a thread right now where a guy made 600hp on a stock b16 on the dyno and dailyed it at mid 400 hp until the trans broke.

yea, its just usually not safe on pump gas. Since the GSR has high compression and small combustion chambers its prone to detonation.

Its all in the tune bro, 15 psi can kill your engine and so can 5 psi.
Find a good tuner, do it right 100%
Your stock gsr internals depending on mileage and wear/tear
should hold just fine if you dont drive like a maniac.
Remember, your bottom end isnt forged.

Cause, i know?

I've had a stock gsr running around on 15psi for about 2 years.. before it was tore down and built to run 30.

People run stupid low boost because they can't tune or anyone around can't.. if your tuning like normal and for every pound of boost you retard .75 on the ign your fine.. Hell i just did a tune on a customer who's got a bone stock b18a1, and he's running on 11 psi.. 1990 b18a1 motor.. 180k miles in a EG, egay turbo kit 50 trim.

I say 12 because thats the normal i'll shoot for unless a customer wants more.. if a customer comes to me, and ask whats best, i ask what its used for and what the setup contains.. b series sleeves are strong..even b20 sleeves are strong enough to hold about 14 psi bone stock.. its all in the tuning.. if i need to go more indepth, lemme know, blunder tuned a b20vtec bone stock on like 15 psi making like 430something whp.. and its still running, been a year or so..

here's a few from some friends of mine - ectuners
http://forum.ectune.com/viewtopic.ph...bf3e01dc748254

http://forum.ectune.com/viewtopic.ph...asc&highlight= (24psi stock sleeved...)

Its in the tuning my friend always will be.. bring me a gsr , bone stock and i'll put 14psi through it if you trust me and it'll last.. and run.

Now your talking like a ignorant person who just learned he was wrong.

We all know flowing 12 psi on a 60trim turbo is way different then flowing 12 psi on a 50trim.

Not to mention turbo hot / cold sides being different, there's alot of variables.. but in general, i was stating.

More then these silly single digit psi levels can be achieved with proper tuning and planning.

Stock k series have handled the upper teens quite well not to mention we've seen a stock k20a2 handle almost mid 30's before letting go..st00pid showed us that.

dont worry about it man, anything we could discuss would be beating a dead horse anyway.

No need to go through and reinvent the wheel right?

OP- the answer to your question is 12lbs because Allmotor tuned his customer on it.

Not trying to insult you personally or anything, but for as knowledgeable as you seem to be, you have to at least understand why this suggestion makes people simply shake their head right?

Just pointing it out is all.

Oh, well ya, anyone who doesn't own a shop, or do this for a living, would shake their head because of all the mis information flowing around on the internet, not just here.. b20vtec.com is worst...way worst..

But ya, its a norm. I mean is it ideal for all setups, no, but if your going to throw such a vague questions out, i'ma give you a norm vague answer..

Some people like 7-10psi

I like staying around 10-12psi.

Some like to go radical. Just depends on how much you trust your tuner.. and ya.. i understand what your saying.
