Default 94 lx rod question

if anyone could help me that would be great. i have a 94 lx with the d15b7 in it and i plan i turboing it. i know the rods wont be able to hold up so im going to rebuild the motor but i dont know what connecting rods would be best or what piston heads would be best either. so if anyone could give me a few ideas on what would work best that would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

rods for the d15b7 will be around 700 and i forgot the name of the company that sells them it will be cheaper getting a d16 and then getting tuner toy rods for 200 check turbod16.com and d-series.org they will have more info

i was looking at those sites last night for a friend of mine who has the d16 in his car and he plans on turboing that. but you would say just do a swap and build the d15 rather than trying to build the d15.

WHY the hell would rods be 700$??

Hell, MY pauter rods for my B-series were that much and they are pretty much top of the line.

$700 for just rods?? You can build a whole D series for that much... If you're looking for a cost effective D series build, a Vitara/Eagle setup will work nicely

Nobody makes rods for the d15 (not talking about the jdm d15b vtec) except crower. And they are sure expensive. With the cost of the d15 crower rods you can have a built d16 bottom end already.

d15b7 has different rod journals, i believe it was crower that made the one off special journal sized rods, around 600-700~ if i remember. D15b JDm motor shares same rod journals at the d16's. Buy a z6 block and do the forged pistons+rods route and you will have a motor capable of 350-400whp with the right setup and tuning. Z6's have better oiling, the d16y's and the d15b7's have the less volume moving oil pump and i think there cranks have the single oil journals instead of the double chamfered like the z6.

Just boost your d15b7 and built a d16 on the side. Your d15b7 rods is different from other d16 rods so therefore you're only aftermarket forge rods are the crower rods. With all the money spent on the d15b7 rods you can easily built a d16 bottom end already. But if you want to built the d15b7 block still than go right ahead. It's just my 02 cent.

thats starting to sound like a great idea. i might just buy a small turbo set up to get me from point a to point b with a little extra something. and build up another motor over the winter and spring and have it ready for next summer. thanks i appreciate your 02 cents.
