can injectors be too big?
thats also a concept that i dont understand?
people make power and then they say that injectors maxed out, well why from the start get sumthing alil bigger, like the man is suggesting?
thanks in advance

i would say get the 1000s and just tune them out, in terms of price, you pay 300 for some 550s or 360 for some 1000s. i bought 550s first, then i maxed them out at 355whp. I now have 1000cc injectors, just so i can go over 500whp and not have to worry.
you don't need 1000cc injectors for only 300whp. I would stick with 550's. The 1000cc injectors are just going to make it harder to tune and to get your car to idle perfect.

They're pretty much only too big if you can't keep your targeted AFR across the spectrum. If you want 1000CC and you or your tuner can idle them fine, I don't see the big deal.
why would it be hard to get them to idle? there's a bunch of guys on this board running 1000cc injectors and getting them to idle just fine. hell my 1000cc injectors idle and i'm only running a basemap setup for 550's. idle shouldn't be a problem, but they probably are big for your application and target hp goal.
larger injectors are also a nice anti-theft device. Say you're running 1000cc injectors for a 300whp setup... if you take your ECU with you, theives can't just plug in a p28 into your harness and drive away... those large injectors wouldn't even allow the car to move an inch.
Other than that i don't see a reason to spend extra money on larger injectors that wont be necessary for your setup.

quick summary
1000cc injectors
Pros: you won't need to buy bigger if you decide to build the engine
For the price it is almost worth it because it's only a bit more
Cons: You can get them to idle, but it may be rough and it will be at 1000rpm or higher
Tuning is a little harder, but if done correctly (takes time) you can get good gas mileage
Think about that and decide what you want. I'd say get 750's cause that's all you really need...it's like meeting half way with the pro's and cons

haha...good gas mileage with 1000cc injectors...that's a good one....how much time do you think he's gonna spend NOT in boost with 300whp, honestly
anyway, 550's should be fine assuming you have upgraded the other fuel system components.....make sure you get disc type injectors, RC Engineering makes great ones
300whp on a stock gsr engine, daily? That'll be interesting....

I dont see why you could not get good gas mileage with 1000cc injectors, with a good tune and not under boost, it should displace the same amount of fuel as a stock injectors, and people put down 300whp all the time on their daily driven cars (gsr motors).

Yeah - that's an unintelligent response. Just b/c the injectors are large enough to put out that amount of fuel doesn't mean that they have to.
In my opinion - nothing is too big if you can get them to tune out for a nice AFR across the board.
And also - 300 whp on a daily B18C is perfectly feasable. There are literally HUNDREDS of cars in that HP range on stock as a rock motors.

why wouldn't you be able to daily drive a 300whp stock gsr?

hey guys I'm getting ready to turbo a stock gsr myself and recently got a great deal on a set of 880's so I bought them. Is tunning this w/hondata going to be a problem? I hope these aren't too big. I'm a turbo noobie so any advice would help, thanks

don't post if you don't know what you are talking about please. it just makes you look bad.
880's w/ hondata == not a problem
i would DEFINATELY get 1000's to the originator of this thread. i went w/ 880's when my goal was 300hp, to give me room to grow. now that i am growing, i've outgrown the 880's. step it up to the top would have saved me $300.

thanks for the replies. i have a chane to get the 1000cc's at a good price. and i don't think 300whp daily driven is a problem. last set-up i had 280whp daily driven for 10 months. thanks again dee
Are you able to idle at less than 1000rpm? When I had my Precision 1000cc injectors and Hondata, I could get a smooth idle, but it was at 1000rpm.
