Default 7 or 9 psi spring wastegate, stock internal

I keep reading posts where you guys are putting 10-15psi on these stock gsr's without blowing them up. Why would all these tuner recommend not boosting over 7psi on stock internal when a lot of you guys are going well over that and still running strong?

I know they want to play it safe but is there any difference between 7 or 9psi spring with a little creep up to 10 or 11 psi

turbo size is more important than psi, 15 psi from a gt42 is a lot more airflow than from a gt15. Using psi is kind of a false indicator unless the turbos are identical.

57 trim? or what? Just run ten, you'll be happy. You'll put down about 300ish whp.

look! my car tuned @ .6bar spring (10.9psi boost spike), 395hp stock gsr block and modified head.......
but on the streets i can barely see boost probably 5psi max and that is, unless i want to hit he gas and leave tire mark's on the road....not safe
feels like driving a ferrari without insurance IMO.
most of the time im driving @ -10 vac and this is just a t3/t67 stage 5

no worries!

your turbo kit should come with the 50trim t3/to4e unless you tell them you want a 57 or 60trim. cause i got the same kit and asked which one comes with it and they said the standard size is 50 trim so i got the 57trim.

^^good choice because eventually when you feel like boosting over 11psi you will already be good to go and wont have to buy one down then road and then get a new re-tune.
