Re: 550cc injectors??
OK what type of fuel? 91,93, or e85? im gonna guess its a 4cylinder. we will need more information. and yes fuel type does make a difference! Oh and the link he gave you is for you to do it your self! Since you are too lazy i will do the math for you
ok first convert from cc's to lbs per hour
(lbs per hour)*10.5=cc's
-call lbs per hour X, and you know the rest of the information so you need to find X
X*10.5=550
x=52.38
Next you need to find out what "horse power" your injectors will support at a given duty cycle. The formula looks like this:
(Injector size in lbs per hour)* duty cycle/B.S.F.C.*#of injectors=theoretical whp they MAY support, so i will fill in the places for YOU with the given information
52.38*80(a safe duty cycle)/.65*4=257ish
Your answer is 257 whp on a boosted car using a very safe duty cycle and B.S.F.C. if you max them out on a less fuel per horsepower you will be just at 350.
that link is a good one thanks i will save it as a favorite

Re: 550cc injectors??
Oh and on e85 with a bsfc of .80 it would only be about 210 whp at 80% duty cycle if you wanted to run e85.
YES i know .80 is high for a BSFC, but it takes aprox. .65 for a boosted car on 91/93 and 30% more for e85.

Re: 550cc injectors??
lol im with hyperflow.. lollll some of us aren't that smart not calling you stupid or anything. we just want a answer lol. but i would estimate atleast 250-400whp 550's are good. some ppl might say more some less. my opinion.

Re: 550cc injectors??
the only way you are gonna make 400whp is to run more than 4 injectors. your "estimate" IS WRONG! I once had similar questions. And if i was told i could make that much power on that injector size i would be mad if i bought them and could barley make half the power i was told. I build cars with one purpuse, GO FAST! That is why i run e85, and run 1200cc injectors. I was told my 780cc would make the power i wanted on e85. They can only support about 350ish. Yes 350whp honda is quick but not as fast as i wanted to be

Re: 550cc injectors??
The easiest way to figure this out is to use the equation where 6cc of flow (total) = 1whp
That way, if you have 550cc x 4 injectors = 2200cc total
2200cc / 6cc per whp = 367whp on gasoline
If you're planning to use E85, there is a 30% conversion factor. That way 6cc x 1.3 (E85 conv factor) = 7.8
If this value is used in lieu of the gasoline value, you will get 282whp.
**All of these values are approximations and should only be used to guess-timate injector size**
