500whp LS VTEC Running rich randomly. HELP!
Hey H-T need some help to figure out whats going on. I have a fully built ls vtec making a 500whp. Recently i have noticed i have been running really rich. This car is not my daily so dont drive it much. Lately on my AEM wideband its been idling at 12.6-13.2 a/f and cruising sometimes around 12.7 a/f. Im running hondata s300v2. First thing i checked were my plugs. My plugs were bad and was concerned because cylinder one looked fouled out and to cylinder 2 to 3 to 4 they looked better. So i changed my plugs and still running rich. Talked to my friend and said i could have a bad injector on cylinder one. So i swapped injector from cylinder 1 to cylinder 3 and checked my plugs this morning after a little bit of driving and cylinder one still looks worse then the others not fouled out. Then I noticed something. I saw oil on my tranny and by my dizzy. Im thinking my O-ring could be bad but i took of my cap to see if it was the internal seal and it is because there was oil inside my cap... Going to fix the dizzy asap. My question is. Having my dizzy leaking internally could this cause my car to run rich? due to not getting good spark? Also cylinder one plug and wire connects to the bottom of the dizzy cap where mainly the oil sits, then cylinder 2 right next to it and cylinder 4 being up top so not getting bad spark. Make sense?

Spark shouldnt affect your wide band reading. If its running rich its most likely in the tune or maybe a vacuum leak.
Whats it tuned on and by whom, and has the weather changed at all (average cooler or hotter)?

Could be an issue with fuel injectors, fuel type, or your engine simply giving out.
After about two years of being boosted my b18c starting running rich. Decided I was gonna do a pull and datalog...boom. Lost cylinder 4.
I'm guessing it was a failed injector because one injector failed. 312whp on blue top DSM's. However it could be the tune as well. Lost all compression in cylinder 4, cylinder 1,2, and 3 had about the same compression, but cylinder 3 had some oil in it as well.

My AEM fail safe AFR gauge went bad after some time showing a wrong rich reading, i confirmed on the laptop via hondata, so i sent it back to AEM and they inspected it and fixed the issue in the gauge. I sold it after and went with a innovate MTX-L wide band.

I would be a good idea to data log it and make sure you are not getting weird iat or ect readings. As that could affect your afrs.

Its tuned my Real Street out in Florida and nothing has changed ever since the tune. I live in Florida so it is very hot but i drove the car before in the heat and never ran this rich. I will do a compression test when i can but the motor only has about 7k on it. I data logged and ECT is normal 180-185 and IAT is normal. I dont think its my gauge because i checked my plugs and it was bad an i smell fuel and the car bogs in high boost because it runs too rich.

The ignition will not affect AFR's that extreme. Fuel and air in = fuel and air out.
What does the map sensor read key on engine off? Does it seem like its correct? I've had map sensors that have gone bad (2.5 Motorola and AEM 5 bar) and they would keep the car from starting and do wacky **** when they got hot.

It also looks like 1 or 2 cylinders are burning oil for sure.

Bad ECU grounds will lead to rich conditions as well. I would take a quick peek at the t-stat ground and the harness connectors at the ECU, or jumper harness connectors for corrosion and look over the harness for integrity, bad pins, etc.

I got my distributor fixed. New internal and external seals with new cap, rotor, coil, and car is still running very rich. A friend did mention that could be a ground issue. I have 3 grounds and 1 ground on the tstat for my rywire harness. Compression is good.

900cc FIC injectors they were brand new when installed. I checked my plugs this morning with brand new plugs with only 100miles max and cylinder one looks fouled out and smells like gas while the other plugs look normal. I swapped injector from cylinder one to cylinder 3 and still have the same issue cylinder one keeps running rich..
