50 vs 57

Default 50 vs 57

With a t3/t04e turbo what is the difference between the 50 trim and 57 trim? besides its bigger.

57 trim flows more? but less effiecent?

50 trim flow less?

what is a better turbo for a LS shooting for 300 whp on pump and 400 on race fuel?

i have a built LS and im running the 57 and i made 402 at 25psi......tuner said that was almost maxing out my turbo......im not sure about the other, but maybe my numbers will help

I've seen 50 trims make well over 450whp on ls/vtec's in the 25psi range. Can't go wrong with either!

I personally have the 50 trim, but ive also ridden in cars with the 57 trim. i personally prefer the response of the 50 trim more. it just seems to suit my b16 better

I've got the same turbo.

406.8 @ 21psi.

I think with a few extra mods, thats with a stock intake mani.

I think upping the boost and a few more supporting mods, I can do close to 475whp w/it...

I say 60 trim. Why loose the extra flow with the 57, and 50, and a marginal decrease in lag?

Yeah I have been thinking about a 50 trim. I have a 57 trim on a B16a2 and I don't see full boost (16 psi) until around 5300. Is this normal, anyone? I have heard of LS motors on here hitting full boost around 4300. I don't know if people are exagerating or what, but that seems really fast compared to mine.

50 trim precision(.63 A/R) on my ls/vtec, 10 psi by 4700

2.5" downpipe, 2.25" exhaust

Also: I have read on more than one occasion that the 50 trim compressor wheel in the SC50 is very efficient, more so than the 57 trim.

Whats the turbine housing A/R? The turbine housing size has a big effect on spool time.
