Default 440whp H23a Preliminary Dyno

Today I put one of our customers builds on the dyno today and to my surprise it made a little more power than I expected it to make off of a simple street tune. Without our traction bar and front motor mount on it I didn't want to push the engine on the dyno due to the fact that it was moving a little bit under heavy load. That and the altenator belt snapped on the 2nd run. I was hoping to at least to do a little cam gear tuning and play with the ignition and fueling some. The last H series with Crower Turbo cams that I tuned managed to pick up 40whp as well as great mid-range.

Anyways, after everything is said and done I'm looking at coming close to 600whp with this specific set-up. At least I managed to find out that there are no bugs in the set-up so I can go ahead and put the bells and whistles on everything until we get the flanges in for our traction bars.

power looks good,

i would just expect on a larger displacement motor, a little more power.

my 84mm gsr made 410@12psi on my 35R, and im barely a 1.9 liter.

what AR is the exhaust housing?

Remember... this is a non-vtec motor. That and it was 101 degrees outside with 92% humidity here in Charleston.

Anyways, you are right. It will make a lot more power once I can fine tune everything. The AF's were 11.4:1 and I've got about 2.5 degrees pulled out from the timing compared to similar set-ups I've tuned like this. Again, the cams will definetely make some nice power when dialed in as well.

looks good

if you dont mind me asking, what was your duty cycle at? reason i ask is ive noticed the H motors to be more thirsty than the B's..just curious if the non vtec motor with out the big rpm are the same.

If I recall correctly I set the base fuel pressure to 43-45psi. I looked at the datalogs and its at 72% on the 2nd pull. I dont want to run out of injector so I`m going to up the base fuel pressure a bit to cheat before I head back to the dyno. I`m also going to pull the pump and verify it`s in fact a 255hp since it was installed before the car was brought to us. You can never be too safe...

As far as the H`s consuming more fuel... think about peak torque and volumetric efficiency between the 2 motors

yea obviously VE and torque play a big role.......but just as i suspected your pretty high up in the duty cycle.

Nice powerband, especially for a GT35R!

What are the turbine housing specs? Any pics/vids?

Yep... definetely high. Just curious, what base pressure were you running on that 600whp one you did a few weeks ago? Also what pump were you running? I've noticed that with the A1000 pumps guys seem to have lower duty cycles than the walbro units. Have you seen this as well or done any back to back testing to verify this?

that particular car i tuned on hondata and maxed the 1000cc injectors out at like 475whp at spring pressure? wtf haha i dont remember what base pressure was with that set up.

we pulled those injectors and walbro out, went to a 1600 set up with a1000 and AEM. started with base pressure about 55psi if i remember correctly? again i dont remember duty cycle, but it was def. higher than a B series at same horsepower/boost.

I was thinking about setting the base pressure on this set-up around 50psi. If I recall the last 530whp H22 I used around 50-53psi but I didn't document it in the Smanager notes for some reason and I can't find my datalog from the last few pulls that I did.

Originally this build was for only 400whp... then it changed to 500... and now it's looking like it will get really close to 600whp. We'll see how much I can squeeze... on the internet a 1000cc injector is good for 750whp if I recall correctly

Always a pissing contest.....

Nice numbers Congrats. That's good power for that motor

lol.... just be carefull cranking the base pressure up with the walbro, because you might bring duty cycle down at lower boost, but find out you run out of fuel pump faster. on the other prelude we tried putting the fuel pump on a relay directly from the battery, didnt help.

i just recently started putting notes in tunes, im kicking myself for not doing it all the time. saves so much time!!

anytime i download somebody's tune first thing i look for is the notes, but nobody EVER has any lol
