Default 4" Open Downpipe?

I was planning one running a 4" open downpipe, but I was thinking of it being to big and affecting my a/f readings or am I just thinking about it to much? Setup will be 84mm b16 w/ bw s362 6-650whp range.

i have one and it doesn't hit. i i have 4 inch down pipe. then its v banded to a 4" bend under the block and pretty close to oil pan (oil pan is heat reflective taped and all exhuast is heat wrapped with DEI titanium lava rock wrap to reduce temps). then that section is vbanded to a reduced 3" straight pipe all the way back and out. So when i want to run the 4" downpipe. i just un vband the mid section bend under the block. works good. and my 02 bung is half way down the downpipe. never have problems with tuning.

thats just a mock up first pic. and then its done in the second. don't mind the poor welds =[. out of gas and had to turn it on A so it wouldn't burn thru. (good excuses 8])

I was thinking of it being to big and the wideband picking up some outside air.

If you have it closer to the turbo than the outlet, then it shouldnt be effected.I had this problem, but i moved it further up-stream and all was well.

That heat wrap is going to make the manifold fall apart pretty quickly.

how is the manifold going to fall apart? if you think it cuz the heat is trapped in, it won't effect it enough. people run heat wrap for years, never heard of one problem. or are you referring to it affecting the manifold another way?

That is what I was thinking. The dp is not going to be short so that wont be a problem, I was just worried about the diameter.

if possible, i suggest run it out the side man. when its anywhere under the car, the fumes are pretty intense. especially a nice rich race setup with alot of hp. doesn't make it super enjoyable for daily drivin or any drivin really, unless its just a quick pass. gl.

Well where I live we got some pretty loud street driven cars so mine shouldn't be a problem. Cops dont really mind. I am just don't want my car covered in black stuff.

yea. everything i own is straight pipe or just downpipe. didn't think about it gettin all over your car. but you will def smell it and it can get you too, being pretty strong, if it stops at the firewall or anywhere where it can seep into the cab.

My 4in exhaust coming out the side, isn't as loud as my 3in that ran the length of the car.. I would run a 3in with your setup. The only reason I have a 4in is because my turbo is a 372.. With my 67mm I had 3in

Well I have had a full 3" exhaust and I am just trying to do something different, as long as it is not hurting my performance I don't mind it.
