Default 3" intercooler piping?

I bought a turbo kit from a local friend for my jdm b16. I got a really good deal for it so i couldnt say no. Only problem is that the intercooler piping is all 3" even the outlets on the intercooler are 3". I got a stock b16 with ctr cams and thats it. Im going to run a t3/t4 turbo and only run it on 10psi. Hoping for 300+ will the 3" piping hurt anything? Air pressure? lose hp?

I doubt it will make much of a difference. 2.5" is ideal with a 2" hot side to reduce lag but you'll be fine.

It shouldnt be a problem. If anything its safe to say that your air wont be hot when it gets to the motor

I would keep what you have. You will be fine. If you don't already have a larger throttle body I would get one that closely matches the size of the piping.

What would be a good tb size? 72mm or 68mm? and people with 96-00 civics can i put the intercooler behind the support bar? Ive seen a couple of civics that did that. Will the 3" intercooler fit behind it? i really dont want to get rid of the support bar.

If you're only looking to make 300whp, the 3" piping will actually increase lag and decrease airspeed (in turn, torque) without giving you any actual gains. I would sell it and buy the appropriate 2.5" piping.

If you read through the FAQ, I have a thread detailing the airspeed of a 2.5" vs 3" (and other sizes) and how that affects flow. Ideally, you want the air to move as fast as possible without incurring too much friction along the way. Essentially that means you want the smallest/shortest piping possible unless the piping is becoming a restriction. Again, you can find all this if you want in the FAQ.
