I've had this in 2.5" for a couple of years. Although it's not stainless, there's barely any rust on it.

Does anyone run a cat with or without a resonator? How does a hi flow cat affect the sound? Worth putting a cat on in hopes of making a 400 hp honda pass emissions?

thats my dream right there, has anyone done it? to do it you would turn the boost way down right? what about welding up an extra exhaust sistem 2" with a couple cats on it. After emissions, unbolt it, and switch back. it wouldnt even need to be nice work just get the exhaust to the back of the car.

I'd say just get a stock header & cat, make an adapter to hook to the bigger exhaust you run in the rear, run a stock ecu, hit up emissions - pass, then swap back to boost w/big exhaust. Not sure about other states, but the Wisconsin counties that mandate emissions testing typically require it once every 2 years. Thats more than enough time to buy & sell used components like that.
As for two cats, if the 1st cat doesn't clean it up, chances are the 2nd won't be much use. Some of the nasty **** that makes you fail is the stuff cats aren't able to convert. Technically speaking, all a cat should do is convert unburnt hydrocarbons (gasoline) and oxygen into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water moisture. Another reason why cat-less mild steel exhausts don't rust much. A proper tune would be much better than a 2nd cat.

actually three way cats clear up some NOx.. the cerium inside strips oxygen from nox, leaving to become just nitrogen.. of course not all is reduced, but it sure does help a lot..

where did you see anything about two cats? JW...
But if i had a stock ECU, a stock manifold, or stock injectors, i would consider it...
