Default 2k-4k noise

every since the summer it started to do this...

everytime i shift inbetween 2k-4k it would backfire but it would sound like a high pitched backfire?? it would only sometimes do this when shifting at higher rpm's.

stock gsr, inline pro, sc61, open downpipe.

i was reading in another thread that in the summer time your car will run a lil richer?

I'm guessing you are reffering to what I posted since you PMed me

Yeah a good sign of richness is backfiring. It's very normal on our cars though, but the only real way to check is get/borrow a wideband or check your plugs immediatley after a WOT pull or whereever you want to check for a lean/rich condition. Don't check them if you idled after you did the run because just idleing will ruin the reading

so shut it down immeaditly after a WOT pull? but do you have any idea what i mean by the high pitched backfire sound?

since money is an issue (to get retuned) should i just leave it this way until the end of summer? is it safe? i mean its always hot in TX but only crazy hot in the summer. the tune was running really well up until it got really hot lately

No I don't know what you mean by high pitched back-fire, but the really hot weather could lead to ungodly high intake temps and lead to detonation. . Check you plugs for signs like little black specs meaning the electrode is chipping off due to the detonation. I wouldn't drive to much like this until you get it fixed. If you do have detonation at lighter loads it shouldn't do to much harm to your engine, but stilll isn't good depending on how hard the pressure spikes in the detonation. Talk to your tuner
